California Canoe & Kayak is very experienced in offering custom Corporate, Youth, & Private Programs.

HI! A long day in the office and looking for something to do and unwind? Whether you are looking for a relaxing break from the office, a fun way to work with your team, or just a great way to get outside and enjoy nature with friends and co-workers? We can provide you with an unforgettable experience at an exceptional value!

Our corporate businesses programs offer you the opportunity to explore your local waterways. Our quality fleet of Stand-Up Paddleboards (SUP), single and tandem kayaks are great for everyone, from beginners to advanced paddlers. Ask about our Hobie Mirage Drive Kayaks (additional fees apply)

Our staff will provide a brief orientation and then guide you on a fun paddle of the area. Our experienced staff will make sure you are safe and comfortable on the water.

Locations: We have several fixed locations to choose from:

Jack London Square (Oakland Estuary)Willow Creek Access on Lake Natoma (Rancho Cordova), and South Fork American River (Whitewater).

We also operate tours and trips around Bair Island, Consumes Preserve, Richmond, Half Moon Bay and Tomales Bay. An additional fee may be applied when scheduling trips away from our fixed locations.

Please ask the California Canoe & Kayak staff for recommendations if you need a local activity for after your paddle.

Note: Morning tours are recommended because the wind is generally less in the morning in the Bay Area. Afternoon and evening (sunset) tours are also available. Winter-time paddling is often the best of all!

Ask about our Hobie Mirage kayaks (additional fees apply)!

California Canoe & Kayak provides all kayak equipment. (including paddle jacket, US Coast Guard approved Personal Flotation Device (PFD), spray skirt, paddle, and kayak).

Wetsuits are not normally required unless you are planning to do team building activities that may result in a swim! We will advise you accordingly. You will need to bring some personal items: Many of these can be purchased from our online store at

Are you a school, summer camp group, or scout troops that want to experience the water? We can do that, too. Kayak is a great way to see the Bay from the water. It’s not just fun, it’s also educational and healthy, too.  We have led trips for Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, Summer Campers, and Private and Public School Youths. Kayaking and Canoeing classes can also arrange for your group.

Private Custom Trips:

Do you and your friends wanted to paddle together, but don’t want to feel lost on the water? A private group outing is a way to go. Our fleet of Stand Up Paddleboards (SUP), single and tandem kayaks are perfect for beginners, intermediate, and advanced groups alike. We recommend using tandem kayaks for guided trips because of their ease of use, storage, and safety qualities. Tandems are also excellent for team-building exercises and double the fun! Single kayaks are available, at the guides discretion, for experienced kayakers.

Paddling is fun and rewarding! As with all outdoor activities, it includes an element of risk. The risks, hazards, and potential consequences are outlined in a “Liability Release, Express Assumption of Risk, and Indemnity Agreement” which you will be required to read and sign before the beginning of the class or trip.

The entire text of this legal form may be viewed here: CCK Liability Release.

Your signature on this form is a declaration of your willingness to accept personal responsibility for any risks involved in your participation. Any person under the age of 18 and not accompanied by his/her parents or legal guardian needs to bring an original parent/guardian signed form to the class prior to participation. If you have any questions regarding potential risks please call our office @ 510-893-7833.

Group Bookings – Deposit, Final Headcount & Payment:

To make a group reservation for a private tour or class we require a 50% deposit to make the reservation. This reserves the date and guarantees staff and resources are available. The deposit will be based on your initial estimate of numbers.

The balance is due 14 days prior to the event. A final headcount is required at this time and the balance will be adjusted accordingly. Adjustments upwards can be made after the final headcount has been given subject to the availability of staff and resources, but no refund will be given for an adjustment downwards because staff and resources will have been allocated to the event.

If the tour or class date is within 14 days of the date the reservation is made, payment in full will be required at the time the reservation is made.

14 Day Group Cancellation Policy:

Full credit or refund will be made if California Canoe & Kayak is forced to cancel a tour or class for any reason. In such cases, our liability extends to the cost of the class or tour only, not travel and accommodations.

All CCK events are subject to last-minute cancellation due to weather and safety conditions.
