California Canoe & Kayak hosts events of all sizes, from private instruction and corporate events to regularly scheduled classes and tours.  We hold and attend events for paddlers and anglers in Sacramento and the Bay Area. Below is a list of the events we’ll be holding or participating in throughout the upcoming year!

CCK Paddlefest

Join us in Sacramento for our annual CCK Paddlefest!  

This event is one of our biggest kayak, canoe and SUP DEMO events all year.  Through the participation of all of our sponsoring brands, we showcase all genres of paddle sports from canoes to high-performance sea kayaks to the latest in fishing kayaks & pedal driven kayaks and stand up paddle boards.

The event is one day only rain or shine.

WHEN: Saturday, June 10th, 2017
TIME: 9:00am – 3:00pm (set up/ tear down 7am-4pm)
LOCATION: Nimbus Flats Recreation Area on Lake Natoma (Rancho Cordova,  California – just off HW50 & Hazel Ave)

August 2017

Monday, Agust 21: Solar Eclipse Paddle

Join us for one earth's beautiful phenomenon. We'll enjoy a leisurely paddling pace. Weather depending, we'll paddle towards the mouth of the Oakland Estuary or towards Coast Guard Island, taking in the quaint sights of this nautical community and the eclipse.

NOTE: Meet 9:00 AM Sharp. Arrive early to complete on land logistics. 

Please be on time. We want to be on the water by 9:45 AM as the eclipse starts at 10:15 AM PDT.

Duration of program: 3 hours
Time on the water:** Approximately 1.5-2 hours

Location:[Oakland Estuary Jack, London Square]
Parking: [Jack London Square Parking and Valet] Parking is discounted with validation at P-2 and P-3 lots only.

Prerequisite: Kayak Basics (or equivalent) to use a single kayak; novices must paddle in a double kayak. The minimum age for this event is 14 years; children under 18 years must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.

Cost: Typical cost is $89.00 per person: Eclipse Day Special is $25.00 on August 21st Only

Saturday, August 26: Hobie First Cast Event (Hell Hole Reservoir)

Introducing the Hobie Kayak First Cast kayak fishing trip series brought to you by California Canoe & Kayak. First cast & first kayak - the first fishing experience. CCK and Hobie Cat® Company want to create new fishing moments for anglers of all ages and skill levels in the Hobie® First Cast program.

Hell Hole Reservoir is an excellent lake with the following species. Nice sized rainbows. We will mainly be targeting rainbows during this event.”

Don't have a kayak? No problem! California Canoe & Kayak will provide each participant with a Hobie Mirage® kayak and an experienced kayak fishing guide to get you jumpstarted into kayak fishing. The best part of fishing on a Hobie Mirage? Your hands are free to tend to your line. Hobie's patented MirageDrive® system allows you to pedal your kayak instead of paddling it. If you have ever thought about fishing from a kayak this is a fantastic opportunity to learn the basics from CCK's Pro Staff Kayak Fishing Team.

Cost: $150 (Bait will be provided if used but no tackle or gear)
Additional $30 fee if you need us to provide fishing gear

Class Time Starts: 7:00 AM - 1:00 PM. Event start and ending times will vary depending on fishing times. Guides will contact you within 48 hours. 

Time on the water: Approximately 4--5 hours

Location: Hell Hole House Reservoir (Sierra Mountains), El Dorado National Forest -Location based on fishing reports.

The minimum age for Hobie First Cast is 14 years; children under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. Must carry a valid California Fishing License if you are 16 and older during this trip.
